El Arahal
El Arahal is a large agricultural town located in the fertile eastern plain of the Seville province, known as La Campiña. Its identity is profoundly rooted in the land, defined by its specialization in one of Andalucía most crucial agricultural products: the olive.
The town is considered one of the key centers for olive production in the region, particularly famous for the cultivation and processing of the Manzanilla and Queen (Gordal) varieties. The surrounding landscape is dominated by immense, ordered groves that testify to the town's economic focus. This deep connection to olive cultivation has shaped its traditions and local industry for centuries.
The historical center features the Iglesia de Santa María Magdalena, a large church that reflects the town's medieval growth. Another notable structure is the Torre de San Roque, a defensive watchtower that provides a historical landmark.
El Arahal provides an experience of a working, prosperous agricultural community, whose life and rhythm are tied entirely to the cycles of the olive harvest. It projects a grounded, productive sense of place within the heartland of Sevillian farming.
