Isla Cristina
Isla Cristina is a major Spanish fishing port and seaside town on the Costa de la Luz, close to the mouth of the Guadiana River. Its foundations date to the 18th century, established by fishermen who built the location around the fishing trade. Today, the city is renowned for having one of the largest fishing fleets in the region, with its daily operations focusing the catch and auction of fresh seafood. The section of coastal is partially shielded by salt marshes, providing a distinct marine setting that supports both its large commercial industry and its summer resort activities.
