La Rinconada
La Rinconada is a municipality situated in the Vega del Guadalquivir, north of the capital in the province of Seville. Its geographical position, close to the river, gives it its name, which refers to a "corner" or meander of the Guadalquivir.
This geographical point is notably developed with a dual makeup: the historical nucleus of La Rinconada and the more modern San José de la Rinconada, which arose from the arrival of the railway and the installation of a large sugar factory in the 1930s.
Currently, the urban section functions as a significant industrial and logistical base within the metropolitan region, housing Aerópolis (an industrial park focused on the aerospace sector) and the Majarabique railway junction. In contrast, it preserves historical structures such as the Mudejár style Church of Nuestra Señora de las NIeves, and expansive green sections next to the river.
