Torremolinos
Torremolinos is a Spanish city and municipality situated on the Costa del Sol, within the Málaga province. The location occupies a steeply sloping section of the coastline, transitioning from its historical role as a small fishing town. Starting in the mid-twentieth century, Torremolinos underwent massive, high-rise development, establishing it as one of the first and most substantial international mass tourism destinations in Southern Europe. The city's primary purpose is dedicated to beach and sun recreation, supporting extensive hotel capacity and entertainment facilities. Notable sections include the pedestrian street of Calle San Miguel and La Carihuela, which retains some markers of the area's fishing tradition. The name refers to the historical presence of watermills (molinos) in the area.
